This is a great stainless steel 4 slice toaster that costs about half as much as the "name" brands, without sacrificing looks or function.
I've only had cheapo toasters for the last several years. I never used them that much, either. But I'd been wanting to upgrade. I got tired of shoving bread into small slots and burning everything up.
I often buy a whole rye bread that is dense (no flour). The slices are very thin; the "self-adjusting bread carriage" closes up to hold the bread perfectly. No more fallen bread that I have to pry out.
I can live without the defrost feature. I think it's supposed to defrost and then go right away into toasting. It takes a long time and, to me, doesn't brown sufficiently. I get better, and faster, results by defrosting my bread in the microwave (for about 10 seconds) and then putting it in the toaster.
The toasting process does seem to take a bit of time, though.
